About Us

Our shop originated as an in-house millwork and cabinetry facility for a general contracting company known first as Alexander & Wright then as RT Wright Builder. We became an independent cabinet shop in 1988, changing the name at that time to MV Millworks, and later incorporating in 2004 under the current business name. 

Our new main facility in Pocasset is operated by owner Jim Young, while Marc Petricone and longtime employee and master craftsman Darli Alves Pereira, continue to work from a smaller shop in Vineyard Haven, on the island.  

For our first twenty years, we dealt primarily with general contractors and architects, specializing in high end whole-house custom cabinetry. We have also built commercial retail display cases, desks, doors and windows, garden and property fences, produced custom profile millwork and made occasional furniture pieces. 

These days we prefer smaller scale, individual projects, working directly for homeowners as often as through builders. We bring decades of experience to such projects as kitchen renovations, poolhouse or guesthouse cabinetry, TV cabinets, desks, window seats, bookcases, closets, and fireplace surrounds. We have also, in recent years, collaborated with larger companies on the installations of their work in large scale residential projects.
